Itinerary

Day 1 – Grapevine, TX – Three Nights at the new Hotel Vin

Arrive in Grapevine, TX for a three night stay at the new Hotel Vin, Grapevine’s first hotel in the Main Street Historic District in 84 years!  Every room comes with a free bottle of Wine. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant close to the hotel. (D)

Day 2 – Historic Downtown Grapevine Tour – Plus Free Time in Downtown Grapevine – Grapevine Wine Trail – Texas Star Dinner Theater

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a tour of Historic Downtown Grapevine. See over 50 buildings and their architectural descriptions as well as stories, events and people who contributed to the development of Grapevine.

Following the tour, enjoy some free time in the Historic Downtown for shopping, sightseeing and lunch on your own. Historic Downtown Grapevine has it all. Anchored by Main Street, this walkable, preserved historic area is home to unique retail shops, winery tasting rooms, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, the Palace Arts Center, the Grapevine Glockenspiel Clock Tower, one-of-a-kind shops, live entertainment venues, restaurants, and art galleries.

Then at the stroke of Noon, gather on Main Street at the Grapevine Glockenspiel Clock Tower and see the two larger-than-life, 9-foot tall Glockenspiel characters, known as the Would-Be Train Robbers. Approximately 75 feet above ground, these figures emerge from the Tower each day to commence what each believes to be the perfect heist. Just as glockenspiels in Europe are rooted in history, Grapevine’s Clock Tower figures reflect the Western lore that many visitors from outside Texas find interesting and entertaining.

The afternoon features Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail with stops at least two wineries. Grapevine is home to a vibrant and growing urban wine trail which features daily wine tastings and special events throughout the year. From strong and bold Texas red wines to crisp and clean Texas white wines, you’ll find a variety of favorite taste sensations.

Texas is the fifth largest wine-producing state in the U.S., and Grapevine has served as a trendsetter in wine culture and a leader in the Texas wine industry with award-winning festivals celebrating the fruit of the vine as well as wineries and winemakers for more than 25 years.

This evening, enjoy a Murder Mystery at the Texas Star Dinner Theater. A night you won’t forget complete with a delicious dinner and dessert, a well-stocked cash bar, and a side-splitting show. Immerse yourself in an award-winning 90-minute murder mystery dinner theater performance set in the 1880s of the wild west of Texas. Test your investigation skills and solve the murder mystery. Take photos with the cast after the show to round out a great night of fun!  (B,D)

Day 3 – Historic Nash Farm Program – Grapevine Vintage Railroad – Fort Worth Stockyards – Dinner at Billy Bob’s

This morning learn about Grapevine and the city’s heritage by visiting Historic Nash Farm. Purchased by Thomas Jefferson Nash in 1859, this historic landmark brings history to life through exhibits, interpretive programs and touchable displays.  An old-fashioned social or interactive craft program will be included with your visit to Historic Nash Farm.

Next, you take a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad where you will travel along the historic Cotton Belt Route Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stockyards. You will take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you are right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive.

You will then have some time to explore the Fort Worth Stockyards. You may want to take a historic Walking Tour, visit the Texas Trail of Fame, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, browse over 25 unique shops including an art gallery, sports store and great restaurants that offer anything from ribs to enchiladas. You will also see the famous Cattle Drive that travels through the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards.

Tonight enjoy dinner, live music and dancing at Billy Bob’s Texas “The World’s Largest Honky Tonk.” Located in the Historic Stockyards, Billy Bob’s is a unique entertainment facility. Return to Grapevine for the evening. (B,D)

Day 4 – Waco, TX – Afternoon at Magnolia Market & the Silos – Silos Downtown Trolley

Today, travel to Waco, TX where you visit Magnolia Market and the Silos owned by Chip & Joanna Gaines, hosts of HGTV’s Fixer Upper. Magnolia Market and its famous landmark silos occupy two city blocks in downtown Waco.  Start with lunch on own at the ‘Siloteria’ – a collection of food trucks located here. Then take your time exploring the Market, play games on the lawn, or touring the garden.  Silos Baking Co., and Magnolia Seed and Supply round out the complex.

For those who wish, you can also ride the Silos Downtown Trolley. Visit all the cool shops, museums, restaurants and many other fun places Waco has to offer!

After hotel check-in, enjoy an elegant and unique dining experience at 1424 Bistro in Waco. (B,D)

Day 5 – Depart for Home
