Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrive Honolulu
On arrival in Honolulu you will be met at baggage claim with a Traditional Flower Lei Greeting then escorted to your waiting motorcoach where porters will take care of getting your luggage from the carousel to the bus.  On arrival at the hotel you will be greeted by your Local Escort.  Bellmen will deliver your luggage and you will be escorted to your hospitality desk for check-in.  The balance of this day is free to rest from the flight or take a walk on the beach.

Day 2 –  Honolulu – Pearl Harbor and City Sightseeing
After a Full American Breakfast.  You will be met by a private coach for a tour of the USS Arizona Memorial.  You’ll learn one of our country’s most valuable history lessons: how men and women gave their lives on that “Day of Infamy,” December 7, 1941.   It was the attack at Pearl Harbor that brought America into WWII, and it was on the Battleship USS Missouri (also included in your tour) on Sept 2, 1945 that Gen Douglas MacArthur received the Japanese Surrender that ended the war.  This experience will make you proud and thankful for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Your narrated driving tour of Honolulu also winds through the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), Washington Place (The Governor’s Mansion), the State Capitol Building, Chinatown, past the Iolani Palace and the King Kamehamaha Statue.

Dinner tonight is at a Japanese Steakhouse.  Hawaii is a melting pot of cultures and tonight you are going to learn how to dine Japanese Style.  You will sit at tables of 10 as your Teppan Yaki Chef prepares Japanese Steakhouse Beef, shrimp an chicken with flames reaching the ceiling, right before your very eyes.     (B,D)

Day 3 – Honolulu – Hanging Loose
Rise and Shine, it’s Hawaiian time!  After your included breakfast this morning, enjoy the opportunity to hang loose Hawaiian style.  Optional activities like a Grand Circle Island Tour, Barefoot Catamaran Sail or a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center will be available for purchase or you can sit back, relax, and simply enjoy your day in paradise. (B)

Day 4 – Kauai – Wailua River – Fern Grotto
This morning you meet your Tour Manager and transfer luggage to the bus, then the airport as you Island Hop to The Garden Isle Kauai.  On arrival you enjoy a leisurely cruise doen the Wailua River to the botanical beauty of the Fern Grotto.  where you will be serenaded by the Hawaiian Wedding Song.   This tour makes another stop at the 151 foot tall Opaekaa Falls – in full sunlight the water sparkles from the volcanic basalt cliff that it falls from.

This evening is a Luau, a grand celebration of food, entertainment and Polynesian culture at sunset.   Luau tradition begins with a kalua pig cooked in an imu (earth oven), with haupia (coconut pudding) and poi (Hawaiian taro starch).  Then under the stars you have witness a live musical performance of the hula – it can tell stories of Kauai, or showcase dances from across Polynesia, like the frenetic Tahitian dance or the thrilling Samoan fire-knife dance.  (B,D)

Day 5 – Kauai – Waimea Canyon
Today you see Waimea Canyon, nicknamed the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’ by Mark Twain.  You’ll be given a visual and verbal history along the way.  You will see Old Koloa Town (circa 1834)   in the heart of Hawaii’s first Sugar Cane Plantation.  Then Waimea the little town that grew up where Captain Cook fort set foot in Hawaii in 1778.  Finally arriving at the foot level overlook where will experince an unsurpassed 360 degree panoramic view ot this geological wonder.    (B)

Day 6 – Kona, Hawaii – Free Time – Kona Walking Tour
This morning you meet your transfer to the The Big Island, Hawaii.   This afternoon is yours to explore.  You can stroll Ali’i Drive’s historical sites, such as Ahu’ena Heiau-which was once King Kamehameha’s place of worship, Hulihe’e Palace-used by royalty as a vacation home but now a museum with many ancient Hawaiian artifacts, and Mokuaikaua Church, which is the site of the first Christian church built in Hawaii.

Day 7 – Kona, Hawaii – Volcanoes National Park Tour
Begin with a Volcanoes Nation Park Tour.  Here you will feel a sense of awe at Mother Nature’s unrivaled power.  From the molten magma flowing from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Mauna Kea;  from the green rainforests of the Hamakua Coast to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach; The Island of Hawaii serves as a testament to nature’s power.  (B)

Day 8 – Kona, Hawaii – Hang Loose
Rise and Shine, it’s Hawaiian time!  After breakfast you enjoy the opportunity to hang loose Hawaiian style.  Optional activities like a Whale Watching Cruise or a Fly-Away Tour to Kuaui or you can sit back, relax, and simply enjoy your day in paradise.  (B)

Day 9 –  Maui – Transfer – Free Day
This morning you transfer to the airport for a short flight to beautiful Maui for a three night stay.   Maui is the 2nd Largest of the Hawaiian Islands and locals say “Maui no ka oi” — it’s the best, the most, the top of the heap. It has a surplus of natural splendor with miles of perfect beaches, lush green valleys, volcanic landscapes, plus fascinating history in the whaling town of Lahaina.   It’s beauty, rich culture and warm hospitality have helped to make it Hawaii’s second most popular island.  Today is free time to enjoy optional tours, shopping in Lahaina or beach time.    (B)

Day 10 – Kahului, Maui – Haleakala House of the Sun Tour – Luau Dinner
This morning, you have a private tour titled,”Haleakala The House of the Sun.”  You travel past sugar-cane fields, through Hawaiian cowboy country (Paniolo),  up beyond the protea farms of Kula,  then above the tree line to where cacti and rare Hawaiian silver swords grow and finally to very crest of Haleakala at over 10,000 feet.    In Hawaiian folklore the crater at the summit of Haleakalā was home to the grandmother of the demigod Maui, legend has it that she helped him capture the sun and force it to slow its journey across the sky in order to lengthen the day.  It is a view to behold.   (B)

Day 11 – Maui – Free Day
This is your last day to Hang Loose in Hawaii.  So relax and enjoy the tropical vistas and don’t forget to enjoy an ice cold Mai Tai.  tonight is your last in paradise and you’ll gather together as the sun drops over the sea for a farewell dinner that features a three course Polynesian Meal.  (B, D)

Day 12 – Departure Day
Your trip ends, you bid Aloha and Mahalo to the Islands as you arrive at the Airport and begin a safe journey home.    (B) .
