Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive Honolulu
On arrival in Honolulu you will be met at baggage claim with a Traditional Flower Lei Greeting then escorted to your waiting motorcoach where porters will take care of getting your luggage from the carousel to the bus. On arrival at the hotel you will be greeted by your Local Escort. Bellmen will deliver your luggage and you will be escorted to your hospitality desk for check-in. The balance of this day is free to rest from the flight or take a walk on the beach.
Day 2 – Honolulu – Pearl Harbor and City Sightseeing
After a Full American Breakfast. You will be met by a private coach for a tour of the USS Arizona Memorial. You’ll learn one of our country’s most valuable history lessons: how men and women gave their lives on that “Day of Infamy,” December 7, 1941. It was the attack at Pearl Harbor that brought America into WWII, and it was on the Battleship USS Missouri (also included in your tour) on Sept 2, 1945 that Gen Douglas MacArthur received the Japanese Surrender that ended the war. This experience will make you proud and thankful for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Your narrated driving tour of Honolulu also winds through the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), Washington Place (The Governor’s Mansion), the State Capitol Building, Chinatown, past the Iolani Palace and the King Kamehamaha Statue.
Returning to your hotel this afternoon, you’ll have a free time to explore the shops on Kalakaua Avenue or take a leisurely stroll on the world’s most famous beach, Waikiki.
Dinner tonight is at Duke’s Waikiki. Duke Kahanamoku was known as Hawaii’s Ambassador of Aloha and the legend lives on at this restaurant. You enjoy Polynesian fare in an open air, beachfront setting as the sun drops off into the blue Pacific. (B,D)
Day 3 – Honolulu Free Day
Rise and Shine, it’s Hawaiian time! After breakfast you enjoy the opportunity to hang loose Hawaiian style. Optional activities like a Grand Circle Island Tour, Barefoot Catamaran Sail or a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center will be available for purchase or you can sit back, relax, and simply enjoy your day in paradise. (B)
Day 4 – Honolulu – Eastern Shores Island Tour
This breathtakingly beautiful 60-mile trip around the island of Oahu visits Hawaii’s most famous landmark Diamondhead, Hanauma Bay, Halona Blowhole, the Pali Lookoute and the un-paralleled South Pacific vistas on the Eastern Side of the island. Your Local Escort has extensive knowledge of the islands and will be available to assist you in finding your own unique dining experience. (B)
Day 5 – Honolulu Free Day – Luau Dinner
This is your last day to Hang Loose in Hawaii. Optional activities could include The Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, time at the International Marketplace, or just realxation on the beach. Enjoy the tropical vistas and don’t forget to have an ice cold Mai Tai.
This evening your farewell dinner is an authentic Hawaiian Luau. A grand celebration of food, entertainment and Polynesian culture at sunset. Hawaiian luau tradition begins with a kalua pig cooked in an imu (earth oven), with haupia (coconut pudding) and poi (Hawaiian taro starch). Then under the stars you have witness a live music performance performance of the hula – it can tell stories of Kauai, or showcase dances from across Polynesia, like the frenetic Tahitian dance or the thrilling Samoan fire-knife dance. (B,D)
Day 6 – Departure Day
Your trip ends. Transfer to the airport and bid Aloha and Mahalo to the Islands and begin a safe journey home. (B)
