Itinerary

Day 1 – Oklahoma City – Rodeo Opry Performance

Arrive in Oklahoma City by afternoon. Start with a city tour with a local guide and see how Oklahoma City’s Western charm goes metropolitan.  Then check into your Oklahoma City hotel for a two night stay.

Dinner is included this evening at Toby Keith’s “I Love This Bar” Restaurant. Toby Keith, a native of Moore, OK, began is rise to fame in the early 1990’s. In 2018, Keith ranked in the top 10 highest paid country music stars by Forbes’.

Tonight, you have reserved seats for the Rodeo Opry, Oklahoma’s official country music show. It has been providing the best in spectacular, family-friendly entertainment every Saturday night for nearly four decades. Originally known as the Oklahoma Opry, the show relocated to the Stockyards District of Oklahoma City in 2004 into the historic Rodeo Theatre where it became an official centennial project and renamed the Rodeo Opry. Saturday night performances feature new talent from around the state, veterans of the Opry stage and stars who have come home to perform. You never know who you’ll catch at the Rodeo Opry, but you can always count on it being a top-notch, quality show with the best musicians, artists and stars of tomorrow. (D)

Day 2 – Oklahoma City National Memorial – Bricktown – American Banjo Museum Dinner & Performance

This morning, you stop at the Oklahoma City National Memorial, dedicated to the victims of the bombing in Oklahoma City of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

Next, you head to Bricktown where you take a fun ride through Oklahoma City’s Bricktown Entertainment District with Bricktown Water Taxi. During the water taxi rides, you will learn history about the Oklahoma City buildings you pass, as well as fun facts along the one mile canal.  You will then have free time for lunch on own and shopping in Bricktown. Once a busy warehouse district, Bricktown is Oklahoma City’s hottest entertainment and dining area, with numerous restaurants, and shopping available. Bricktown is also full of public art including sculpture, murals and even performance art.

Visit the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. From Albert Bierstadt’s glowing landscape, Emigrants Crossing the Plains, and works by Remington and Russell, to Native American art, see some of the finest Western art in the country. Round out the tour with a look at the evolution of the working cowboy to their portrayal in film and pop culture. The Museum’s Hall of Great Western Performers includes musicians (and Oklahoma native) Gene Autry, Vince Gill and Reba McEntire.

Then head to The American Banjo Museum for dinner along with an exclusive performance and a tour. The museum houses the largest collection of banjos on public display in the world and is the only museum dedicated to just the banjo. Discover banjo history from its humble African roots through its heyday during the roaring ’20s to its present-day voice in bluegrass, folk, jazz and world music. Then, take a seat in the performance venue modeled after one of the wildly popular banjo nightclubs of the 1960s, known as Your Father’s Mustache, to enjoy dinner followed with an exclusive banjo performance. Day 3 – Memphis, TN – Beale Street

Depart Oklahoma City this morning and travel to Memphis, TN. On arrival, you will have some free time to explore Beale Street on your own before dinner.  This evening dinner is included at the Blues City Cafe where you will sample some of the South’s favorite dishes.  Then you check into your Memphis area hotel for the night. Day 4 – Graceland – Nashville, TN – Grand Ole Opry

After breakfast this morning, enjoy the Elvis Experience Tour + Airplanes tour of Graceland. This is a one-of-a-kind experience will lead you on Elvis’s fascinating journey to superstardom. You will experience the cultural changes that led to the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll and see, first-hand, how Elvis became the most celebrated entertainer in the world.

Departing Memphis, you travel to Nashville, TN where you will be staying the next two nights. This evening dinner is included at Santa Fe Cattle Company.

Then you have reserved Seats for the Grand Ole Opry. For more than 85 years, country’s best have mesmerized audiences at the Grand Ole Opry Live Radio Show, the show that made country music famous. Each Opry show features an array of performances by new stars, superstars and legends of country music as well as great bluegrass, comedy and more. Opry shows are never rehearsed and never the same show twice. (Show subject to availability.) (B,D)

Day 5 – Nashville Troubadour Tour – Country Music Hall of Fame – Backstage Opry Tour

This morning, meet your guide for a Troubadour City Tour. Singer/Song Writer Guided City Tour is an “Only in Nashville” kind of experience. Bringing new meaning to the phrase “Entertaining Narrative” it’s sightseeing with a singer/songwriter guide. The tour will include Downtown Nashville’s colorful history with drive-bys of the historic Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Honky Tonk Row. You will hear what it’s like trying to break into Nashville’s music scene, both the struggles and the victories.

The afternoon features a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the keeper of priceless Country Music Treasures. Your self-guided tour is a walk through history, one that leads you from the earliest folk traditions to the music that thrills millions of fans today. Every tour ends in the Hall of Fame Rotunda, the never-ending circle, and storied home of the inductees.

Take a guided tour of the Grand Ole Opry House offering a behind-the-scenes look at the celebrated 4,400-seat venue and country’s most famous show, including themed dressing rooms, the artist’s entrance and more.

Enjoy dinner tonight at the Opry Backstage Grill Restaurant. The show that made country music famous is now making its mark on Southern cuisine in a new restaurant at the Inn at Opryland Hotel as uniquely entertaining as the Grand Ole Opry itself. (B,D)

Day 6 – Depart for Home
