Itinerary

Day 1 – Thursday – Shreveport, LA

Arrive today in Shreveport, LA where you enjoy a three night stay at a local hotel.  Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day 2 – Friday – King Cake Making Class – Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets – Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Museum – Tubbs Hardware & Cajun Gifts – Mardi Gras Float Loading Party

Start the day with a private King Cakes making class at Lilah’s Bakery.  It’s not Mardi Gras without king cakes. Learn how to make your own king cakes and take a tour of the bakery.

Next, enjoy some free time for lunch on own and shopping at Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Discover more than 60 retail stores and restaurants located on the scenic riverfront in Bossier City.

This afternoon, visit the Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Museum.  Wander through displays of elaborately themed costumes and memorabilia and see the colorful parade floats featured during northwest Louisiana’s Mardi Gras. The Museum highlights over a decade of Mardi Gras in North Louisiana and is considered a work in progress. Displays are updated and added on a continual basis.

Then visit Tubbs Hardware and Gifts. This a unique Louisiana business that offers hardware, as well as Louisiana souvenirs like Cajun spices, culinary products, fleur-de-lis accessories and Mardi Gras beads and souvenirs.

This evening, dinner is included at a local restaurant followed by a Mardi Gras Float Loading Party.  You will attend a Float Loading Party for either the Krewe of Centaur or Krewe of Gemini.  The evening will feature your group helping load the floats with colorful decorations and throws, plus, music and fun for everyone. Day 3 – Saturday – Exclusive Red River Mardi Gras Bash – Evening at Casino

Enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel before heading to downtown Shreveport. This afternoon, enjoy the 19^th Annual Red River Mardi Gras Bash during the Krewe of Centaur and Krewe of Gemini parades.  Enjoy exclusive VIP treatment and behind-the-scenes access for your group during one of Louisiana’s largest Mardi Gras parades.

Live music, Cajun food, king cake, commemorative Mardi Gras beads, and more are also included.  Once the parades begin, the Mardi Gras Bash area is showered in beads, trinkets and toys thrown by Krewe members aboard dozens of huge, brightly colored floats.

Following the parade, enjoy an evening at one of the local casinos.  Shreveport-Bossier’s riverfront casinos offer a winning combination of table games, slots, poker and more.  Dinner will be included this evening at the casino. (B,L,D)

Day 4 – Sunday – Depart for Home
