Itinerary
Day 1: Miami – Art Deco Hotel
Travel to Miami. Two Nights Art Deco Hotel Lodging in South Beach. This is an area that has been called the American Riviera, an Art Deco Playground. Yet there’s more than fine white sand and colorful buildings amid this exuberant architectural playground. South Beach also offers an eclectic mix of world-class boutiques, galleries and stores. It’s also a culinary hot spot for everything from gourmet to casual beach side cuisine and at night it comes alive with crowds ready for a festive evening out.
On arrival your walking tour provides an introduction to the Art Deco, Mediterranean Revival, and Miami Modern (MiMo) styles found within the Miami Beach Architectural Historic District. This 20th-century neighborhood is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, with 800 structures of historical significance, most built between 1923 and 1943. The fanciful pastel buildings, with porthole windows, ship-like railings, sleek curves is the Miami of postcards; the skyline of Ocean Drive has been featured on television what must be millions of times, and yes, the people are as beautiful and as they look on the tube.
It may be a world class partying hot spot, but the daytime destinations on the island are as notable, and perhaps more memorable, than the nightlife. The clear blue water and the white sand beaches just doesn’t get old. If you’re taking a break from the sun, check out one of the many museums, shops or historic buildings in the area. Take a stroll down Lincoln Road for the best people watching in Miami or cozy up to a fancy bar with haute cocktails.
During the late afternoon on your tour you will visit The Wolfsonian. A museum, library, and research center in the heart of Miami Beach’s historic Art Deco district. It has a collection of nearly 120,000 objects from the late 1800s to the 1940s helps visitors to illustrate the persuasive power of art and design.
This evening your group will enjoy the romantic ambiance of a Miami Waterfront Restaurant for dinner complete with great seafood a serene waterfront view and ocean breeze. (D)
Day 2: Biscayne Bay Cruise – South Beach Luxury
This morning features a fabulous sightseeing cruise along scenic Biscayne Bay. See Miami’s spectacular coastal sites including the beautiful downtown Miami skyline, the Port of Miami, Fisher Island, Miami Beach and “Millionaire’s Row” – the homes of the rich and famous. You then have lunch on at the Bayside Marketplace. A vibrant waterfront mall in downtown Miami, Bayside Marketplace wraps along the Biscayne Bay and features shops, restaurants and entertainment options. Shops in the mall offer everything from apparel to bath products to technology and more.
You have a free afternoon and evening for recreation, the beach, dinner and nightclubbing. From your hotel’s convenient location in South Beach you will find white sand and colorful buildings an eclectic mix of world-class boutiques, galleries and stores. Plus it is a culinary hot spot for everything from gourmet to casual beach side cuisine. And at night, South Beach comes alive with crowds ready to go out. This is a chance for you to dress up a little and have a world-class evening out yourself. (B)
Day 3: Departure Day
The Last sight in Miami his morning is Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, a National Historic Landmark built by agricultural industrialist James Deering, 1916-1925. Today, the extraordinary European-inspired estate includes a Main House filled with art and furnishings. 10 acres of gardens on Biscayne Bay, a hardwood hammock (native forest), and a historic village. The serene and stunningly beautiful mansion was built during the Gilded Age when cultural standards were enlivened by the irreverent spirit of the dawning Jazz.
After Vizcaya your South Beach Tour Package is complete. You either depart for home or we can customize additional South Florida Sightseeing to add into your journey. (B)
