Itinerary
Day 1 – Bentonville
Travel to Bentonville, AR. Check into your hotel for a two night stay. Dinner on own.
Day 2 – Walton’s 5 & 10/ Walmart Visitors Center – Crystal Bridges Museum – Peel Mansion – Museum of Native American History
This morning, meet your local guide for a day of touring. First stop today is Walton’s 5 & 10/ Walmart Visitors Center. Located in Sam Walton’s original Bentonville variety store, the center traces the original and growth of Walmart Stores, Inc. In addition to the museum, the Downtown Bentonville area has several shops that offer unique souvenirs.
Take a guided tour of the new Crystal Bridges Trail and see first hand the construction of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. This state-of-the-art facility will bring a new national art museum to middle America.
Enjoy a wonderful catered lunch and take a tour of Peel Mansion, a 1875 mansion that was built for Colonel Samuel West Peel and observe how Arkansasans lived in the 1800’s. Next, tour the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel. The chapel was designed by E. Faye Jones and Maurice Jennings. Jones was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and his influence is seen in Jones’ designs. The chapel is built entirely of glass and steel and sits on a wooded hilltop overlooking Lake Norwood.
The Veterans Wall of Honor sits on a 1.67 acre site adjacent to Lake Bella Vista. The site includes a massive entry arch, a center fountain with fiber optic lighting, a 36 ft. time line of major historical engagements. with over 120 cast bronze plaques telling of American history and 3,500 veterans’ names engraved in granite.
Walk through pre-historic time in Bentonville’s newest attraction, the Museum of Native American History. Delve into the lives and daily activities of ancient Americans-forefathers to the American Indians-through a self guided audio wand tour.

Day 3 – RFID Research Center Tour – Terra Studios – War Eagle Mill
Meet your local guide again this morning and start with a guided tour at the RFID Research Center, one of the world’s preeminent retail development sites. With clients that include Walmart and Bloomingdale’s, see what technology is being developed for store use. Whether it’s tracking devices that can pinpoint a box within inches in any warehouse, to dressing rooms that allow you to pay for purchases as you are trying on clothes see first hand the future of retail technology.
Next, tour Terra Studios. stroll along the wooded paths through the mural garden, explore the pottery showroom and watch skilled glassworkers create the now famous Bluebird of Happiness. This is a great place for shopping. You will have the choice of visiting either the Daisy Airgun Museum or the Rogers Historical Museum. The Daisy Airgun Museum is home to the largest collection of antique air-guns, BB guns and commemorative rifles. You group won’t ‘shoot their eyes out here.’. At the Rogers Historical Museum you will experience the past in a museum that is designed for hands-on fun for all ages. Also tour the 1895 Hawkins House and step back into the early 1900’s Rogers, AR.
Visit the War Eagle Mill, a working water-powered grist mill and scenic Ozark site featuring the Historic War Eagle Bridge. Browse the gift shop for crafts, baskets, Arkansas jams and jellies and stone ground whole grain meals and mixes. Enjoy a nice dinner at a local restaurant.(B,D)
Day 4 – Depart for Home
